John & Susie Jenkinson – Owners/Registered Clinical Counsellors
John & Susie founded Life-Link Counselling in the summer of 2007. They have been married for 39 years and have two adult children. Their love of counselling goes back to the early ’90’s and they both have since graduated with a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Counselling (with Honors). They have had extensive training in Emotionally Focused Therapy and specialize in co-therapy with couples who want to work on their relationship struggles. They also counsel individually in areas of depression, anxiety, grief, anger, trauma, abuse, and self-esteem.
Mikaela Toohey MA RCC
Mikaela has a passion for working with children, youth, and adults. When working with children, Mikaela takes a Play Therapy approach and has found it to be extremely helpful for children experiencing a variety of issues. Mikaela’s practice is informed by Attachment Theory and often uses a Narrative Therapy approach in session with clients, while incorporating other orientations such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Strength Based and a Person-Centered approach. She considers it to be a tremendous privilege to walk alongside clients through their fears, struggles and successes and is determined to create a safe space where individuals feel welcome to share their pain and walk through it together. Mikaela is currently on a maternity leave till early spring 2025.
Victoria Tydeman MA RCC
Victoria has a strong desire to travel alongside people of all journeys and walks of life. She understands that life can be too difficult to manage alone, and longs to help people become better versions of themselves. Victoria works with children, young adults, adults, and couples. Her therapeutic practice is informed by Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT).
Sandy Bird – Reception/Office Admin
Sandy joined the Life-Link Counselling Group team summer of 2022 and has been a cheerful and helpful addition. If you have scheduling or Free Introductory First Session questions, she’s the one to call!
Shiloh – Therapy Pup in Training
Shiloh is an Australian Labradoodle who came to us in the summer of 2020 (her registered name is Chilliwack Labradoodles Shiloh). She is in training to become a Certified Therapy Dog. Shiloh is super smart, incredibly friendly, very loving, and as well, hypoallergenic. We dare you to pet her and not smile!
